The roof structure is a significant part of the church.
The mullions creates a diagonal grid on the roof plain. The thin mullions
sits on a layer of metal tubes which also runs diagonal across the plain.
The metal tubes are supported along the edge of the masonry body and
the buttress that connects the highest point to the lowest of the top
enclosure. The thin metal frame roof structure was attended to harmonize,
meeting a balance towards the mass body structure. The pattern on the
roof plain reveals a sense of delicacy and rigidity, representing sturdiness
of a light and thin structure, reflecting how the human spirit is small
yet strong against the power of nature.
